Forty Day Journey to the Cross: Sabbath of Reflection

“On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.” (Psalm 63:6-7)

A Sabbath day of reflection entails both a look into the mirror of our humanity and a stare into the majesty of his divinity. One shows us ourselves. The other shows us Christ

The mirror reflects sin. His majesty reflects grace. The mirror shows us what we have done. Majesty shows what he has done and is about to do.

Reflection

As you lay on your bed through the watches of the night, what thoughts of Christ come to mind?

What do you see as you look into the mirror? What reflection stares back at you?

What do you see as you look into his majesty? What do you think he is about to do during the next leg of your journey?
