Each season of the Lutheran School of Theology has been filled with providential events.
Such is the story of the Kingdom of God.
Come what may, the Triune God orders all things according to His will, for the sake of the Gospel, for the growth of His Church, and for our eternal good.
So also is the story of James May, a talented American architect who was once without hope or faith in Christ …
until …
… he met Tiina, a godly and pious Finnish Lutheran woman, who shared the Gospel with him while they both were studying at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece.
By God’s grace, faith was created and James became a Christian.
He and Tiina were married. They attended Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN.
After graduation, James was called to be a missionary to Burkina Faso by the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, and then, later called to be the executive director of Lutherans in Africa.
Through twenty five years of marriage, they have proclaimed the Gospel to the African continent. And as only the Triune God can orchestrate, James can be a Christian husband and father, a pastor, a missionary, and an architect … all at the same time.
In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.
Proverbs 16:9
Video Vlog Update
Here’s a brief video with Dr. Gregory Schulz and Rev. James May of Lutherans in Africa as they talk about how, over the years, the Lord has …
… miraculously ordered and orchestrated times and seasons, people and relationships, churches over multiple continents, faithful pastors, gifted laity, and much needed and timely resources in order to build the Lutheran School of Theology.
