“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
We live most of our lives with our hands closed.
They wrap, grip, grasp, hold, clasp, clutch.
Even in prayer, they fold. Fingers interlock and two hands become one closed fist.
On this Sabbath, God wants to open our hands to receive whatever he might want to give.
Reflection
What do your hands wrap themselves around? Why?
What are you asking for? What are you seeking? On what door are you knocking?
Before you continue your journey, open your hands. Turn your palms toward heaven and ask the Father to give you any and every gift he has for you in Jesus.
