Lent 2023 – The Receptive Life

Does it seem like you and your family are being harassed by the “unholy trinity” of … the devil, the corrupt world, and the sinful flesh?

Are these spiritual enemies winning the day?

Do you feel ill equipped to fight back?

During Lent 2023, I’d like to give you some daily and weekly spiritual practices that will help you …

  • fight against the attacks of the “unholy trinity”
  • defend yourselves with the promises of the person and work of Jesus
  • and receive all of the gifts that only can come from the Triune God

Lutheran Spirituality and The Receptive Life Resources

Beginning Ash Wednesday, February 22nd, I’m offering a Lenten digital series called … The Receptive Life.

It will be hosted on a new web resource called Lutheran Spirituality (here).

The goal of The Receptive Life is to provide digital resources that will help you develop a distinctly Lutheran spiritual formation process that is …

  • rooted in the Scriptures
  • anchored in the weekly Divine Service
  • and framed by the chief parts of Martin Luther’s Small Catechism

Unlike most spiritual formation programs that focus on the work, performance, or effort of the individual, The Receptive Life emphasizes the work of the Triune God and directs us to all of the places and means by which the Word (in Scripture, the Sacraments, and in Jesus) does its work on us.

By the end of The Receptive Life Lenten journey, you will have a simple framework that will help you daily and weekly go to all of the places where the Triune God has promised to do His work and give His gifts.

You can sign up for The Receptive Life community course by going to …

When you sign up, you’ll receive the videos sent directly to your inbox and directions on how to access the private Lutheran Spirituality community.
