In some ways, life at the Lutheran School of Theology (LST) in previous years was like perpetual camping.
From 2017 to the fall of 2023, meals for the students and staff at the LST were prepared in a make shift shelter over an open fire.
Depending on what was happening on the campus, meals for 30-60 people were not uncommon.
And it proved to be quite a challenge.
But with all things at the LST …
… the Lord granted the cooking staff ingenuity, strength, and determination. And for six years they made do with what they had. They found a way to prepare, cook and serve three meals a day (and do the dishes).
Now, thanks to the generous supporters of Lutherans In Africa, the Lutheran School of Theology has
- an indoor cafeteria
- a fully equipped kitchen with a spacious food preparation area
- high-efficiency word-fired brick ovens
- an on-site butchery
- and store rooms for grains and vegetables from the garden.
Here’s a conversation with Dr. Gregory Schulz and Rev. James May of Lutherans in Africa as they talk about how the Triune God has provided a new kitchen and cafeteria for the students at the Lutheran School of Theology.
