Ten Days with 10 Commandments: Schedule, Resources, Video Tour and Webinar

Ten Days with the Ten Commandments

Starts Thursday, October 22nd

Perhaps, the greatest revealer of 2020 and the most disturbing systemic symptom has been our lack of love. Sadly, the worst of the world has brought out the worst in us.

The good news is that, in Jesus, the worst of us (and the world) is daily met with the best of the Triune God. Through the person and the work of Jesus the world is redeemed, restored and reconciled.

Ten Day Schedule and Focus

I’d like to invite you to join me in a Ten Day Spiritual Health Assessment. Here’s what the schedule looks like:

  • Thursday, 10/22: The 1st Commandment … no other gods
  • Friday, 10/23: The 2nd Commandment … call upon me
  • Saturday, 10/24: The 3rd Commandment … don’t neglect the Triune God’s gifts
  • Sunday, 10/25: The 4th Commandment … honor the three “estates”
  • Monday, 10/26: The 5th Commandment … help don’t harm
  • Tuesday, 10/27: The 6th Commandment … purity
  • Wednesday, 10/28: The 7th Commandment … improve and protect
  • Thursday, 10/29: The 8th Commandment … build up, don’t tear down
  • Friday, 10/30: The 9th and 10th Commandments … contentment
  • Saturday, 10/31: The Close of the Commandments

I’ll also weave through our discussions Martin Luther’s beautiful little resource called, Christian Questions with Their Answers (click here). There is no finer guide for personal examination than these twenty questions.

During these days … The Holy Spirit will use the 10 Commandments to diagnose the spiritual disease afflicting us and our world. He’ll direct us to Jesus, the Great Physician. We’ll receive three doctor’s orders:

  • repent,
  • receive
  • rejoice
  • (and I’ll add a fourth) … repeat

And then …

Sunday, November 1st will be a day set aside to go to the Lord’s house. During the time of worship we will repent, receive and rejoice in all of the gifts that only the Triune God can give to us. If you do not have a place to worship, you’re welcome to attend worship at East Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Detroit at 10 am. (click here for website)

On Monday, November 2nd we’ll begin a 12 week course, process and experience called “The Receptive Life”.

The “eXPlain it” Learning Experience

The “eXPlain it” portal doesn’t just deliver content. It provides an experiential and guided tour through each topic “territory”. My role is both “teacher” and “guide”.

It’s also a communal experience. Through ZOOM, virtual “live” lessons and community forums we’ll learn together.

Here’s what you’ll find in each of the “eXPlain it” courses/experiences …

  • an easy to use and accessible learning platform
  • content delivered through a variety of mediums: video, audio, written, PDF downloads, PPT presentations etc.
  • virtual “live” sessions via ZOOM that support the content and answer questions (recorded for those who cannot attend “live” sessions)
  • community forums for group discussion
