Week of Advent 3

The Lord bless and keep you and give to you His peace.

In the Gospel reading for this week, John the Baptist sends two of his disciples to Jesus with the question …

“Are you the One who is to come or should we expect someone else?” Luke 7:18 (NIV)

At that time Jesus cured many who had various sicknesses, cast out evil spirits, raised the dead and gave sight to the blind. So he told the messengers to go back and report to John what they had seen and heard.

Perhaps in 2020 we wonder, is the Lord Jesus “the ONE” or should we go looking for someone else. By faith we wonder and then declare with Peter and the disciples …

“Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:68-69 (NIV)

The Lord has come. He has seen and known our griefs and sorrows. He has conquered all enemies … sin, death and the devil. And one day, He will reappear and make all things new, perhaps yet this day.

Till then we pray,

“Amen. Come, Lord Jesus.” Rev. 22:20 (NIV)
